The Origines of Rome resource pack is considered so perfect for any player who wants to make Minecraft world look actually like something from the time of Antiquity. By featuring a lot of blocks that are all updated to look like columns, it has a distinctly Greek feel and flavor to it, in spite of the Roman moniker. Well, since some of the texture changes are pretty extensive, users are advised to have McPatcher or Optifine to get this pack working at its fullest. Also, the Origines of Rome should probably be used together with one or more other packs.
Actually, the Origines of Rome resource pack was designed to work as a supplement to another Minecraft pack of Conquest, which we can find in any place hosting packs. Since the Conquest has not been updated to work with Minecraft version 1.8 and beyond, Origines of Rome is considered a great substitute for that for players using the recent versions of the game, rather than just an addition. This pack works quite well as a stand-alone, but it does best on version 1.7 of Minecraft with the associated content. In addition to the Conquest, you will also want to look for the Stugace’s armor resource pack, which adds some diversity into your world by making armor suits look much more unique.
As having the 32×32 resolution, the Origines of Rome is a moderate resource pack, neither too large that most players can’t use nor too small that it does not do much to really change the appearance of the game. In case that you want to try the pack without downloading it, the Respublica server is hosting a world specifically made using this specific resource pack. To be honest, just few resource packs available now have their own servers, so it’s well worth for a look.
